Our tutor Sarah was very easy to talk to and approach with any questions or ideas we had. The course and tutor have been fantastic and I am looking forward to starting Level 1.

I would just like to say a huge thank you to Jan, Kayla, Kelly, Heather and Michelle for the support given to me whilst I have been learning BSL with my sister-in-law, Samantha.

The foundation course was fabulous and conveyed extremely well by Kelly, I learnt a lot and found the transition from Makaton to BSL very informative and enjoyable whilst at a pace that was easy to deal with.

This then gave me a taste that I wanted to learn more. I promptly enrolled to do level one. Level One was just as exciting if not that bit more as Jan was my tutor from the end of 101. As Jan is a deaf tutor I learnt so much from her, so quickly and now level one is one class and exam away from finishing, I cant wait for pre-level 2 to begin in February.

Sign language is something I have always wanted to do from a young age watching my Aunt and Nan converse with the hearing impaired residents in a residential home for the deaf (30 years ago). Whilst working with children with special needs I picked up Makaton along the way, but I always wanted to learn more. The Fylde Coast BSL Centre has helped me to fulfill a wish that was on my "Bucket List" (things to do before I die!!) and now I just want more, (Again!!)

I realise I can only go as far as my learning capacity will allow me to, but the staff at TFCBC will help me every step of the way and push me to my learning limits with love I'm sure. My husband and children have learnt from me whilst I have been practicing. My youngest daughter being just 2 1/2 is making the transition from "Mr. Tumble" Makaton to BSL too.

I'm going to miss my "Monday Night Out" over the Christmas break but i will be happy knowing that Sam and I are going to win every round of "Charades" played at parties etc.

I have just completed the BSL Foundation Course at Progress House and would like to say how enjoyable this was. It was a pleasure to learn in such a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The content of the course and the way it was taught by Jeanne was excellent. I would also like to say thank you to yourself and Shirley for the help you gave. I am sure many people will have gone away from this, myself included wanting to learn more of this awesome language!I would be very interested in doing the Level One course and wondered what the cost of this would be and when it would be held. Once again, thank you all very much

Dear Jan,

I would just like to say a very big thank you to you, Shirley and Michelle for the most enjoyable and worthwhile course I have attended, it really was fantastic. Even though I don't work with deaf or partial hearing children, I do some baby signing with groups of parents in our Childrens Centre, and now feel more confident to introduce more signs. It is a skill that I am sure will be of use in the future, and would love to do further training, depending on school budgets.

I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your skills and the way you delivered the training course.

I hope to see you in the near future.

Just a short note to thank Jan for the great course this week and last. It was very informative and being the only left hander there I was made to feel special rather than a problem as Jan always checked I knew how to do the signs my way. Thanks for that it made a lovely change!

I am trying to get the money together for the Level 1 course and will certainly be in touch when I do!

Just want to wish you, Kayla and everyone at The Fylde Coast BSL Centre a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. I'd also like to say a big thankyou for your expert tuition a nd support throughout my level 1 BSL Course. I must admit I was a little nervous before joining the course being a more mature" student but I really didn't need to be. The classes are fun, friendly and delivered at a pace that suits everyone. I thoroughly enjoyed my Monday evenings learning sigh language and passing the exams was the icing on the cake. My advice to anyone considering learning sign language is to contact the Fylde Coast BSL Centre and sign up for the classes now they are brilliant!!

The foundation course was fantastic! Not only did we all learn so much in a short space of time, but we had fun doing it too. If anyone has any doubts whether they think they can manage it, then don't worry. The support and structure of the course is easy to understand, easy to learn and easy to put into practice! Thanks so much to all at the centre for a great course. Book me in for Level 1 next year!

I was really nervous about attending my first class but when I got there I met some really lovely people, we all got on really well and had lots of laughs. I first saw an article on the Fylde Coast BSL Centre in the Gazette last year, and straight away I phoned the number to enquire, and spoke to a lovely lady called Kayla, who told me all about what they were doing there. I registered there and then for the Foundation Course starting in 3 weeks, and am so glad that I did!! I went along with my hubby Graham, and we were made to feel so welcome by everyone. I have now just completed Level 1 and am ready to begin Level 2. Jan is an excellent teacher, and Kayla, Jan's Support Worker, is always on hand to help. Both of them offer help when you need it, over and above what you get at any other college. I can't thank you both enough for open up another world to us. I had wanted to learn sign language for many years, especially now that it could be relevant in my job, and this is definitely the place to learn it. It's just like home from home when you go to the centre. Everyone is ready to help you, not just the tutors but the learners as well and we have made many new friends there. If your thinking about learning sign language, this is the place to learn!!!! Thanks for everything Jan and Kayla.

I thought the course was very well organised and interesting - giving us an insight on what to expect at Level 2. You were very helpful to all students and aware if someone was struggling. Excellent information sheets coupled with the lessons...students were encouraged to mix and practise their skills

Completing the pre-level 2 signing course at the Fylde Coast BSL Centre, was a fantastic opportunity to get a head start on this interesting and complex language. Jan, is a fantastic teacher who ensured that the pace of the class was such that everyone felt included and never uneasy about asking for clarification. The structure of the classes were always informative and relevant, but very enjoyable. Thank-you for all the help and support in completing this course

I thoroughly enjoyed The Fylde Coast BSL Centre’s Level 1 BSL course. Jan is a most understanding & helpful teacher. I couldn’t have asked for more from a teacher. The lessons are very informative & Jan makes the lessons fun, so apart from learning it’s enjoyable to do so. The 3 hour lessons we had flew by because of Jan’s teaching style that makes learning fun! Kayla & Jan’s support made me feel at ease & confident. I will be back for Level 2. I cannot recommend Jan’s BSL Classes enough. I will definitely tell everyone to go to Jan to learn BSL!!

Thank you so much for all your support through the course you have been amazing, ive enjoyed the basic and level 1 course a lot our lessons were always full of fun and laughter.
