Hi my name is Sarah Lonergan. I have always been interested in languages and living aboard I came across a daily struggle to communicate with the locals. I always tried to mix and communicate but found it really hard.

When I moved back to the UK, I started working in a bank as a personal banker and meet some deaf customers, they brought that feeling back that I had in Spain and I didn’t want them to have the daily struggle like me, so I looked into learning sign language and that’s where my journey began…

Learning this beautiful language has been the best thing that has happened to me, not only have I made a difference in being able to talk to my customers, but I have made some fantastic friends.

I am now looking forward to my Level 3 NVQ Certificate in BSL which starts in September and I have been very privileged to be offered a position helping Jan and her team passing on this perfect language.
