Hi! I’m Michelle Lynn. I first became fascinated with Sign Language during my time at middle school, which was a mixture of Deaf and hearing students, and although we weren’t encouraged to mix I became intrigued to watch such a visual language, that’s when I decided I wanted to learn BSL. Many years later, in 2007, after seeing an advert for a BSL Foundation class, I met Janice. I appreciated the language even more and decided I wanted to have a career based upon signing. I have now completed my Level One, Level Two and Level 3 Certificate in BSL at The Fylde Coast BSL Centre and am looking forward to continuing on to NVQ Level 6.

Over this short period of time, I have seen the centre grow and become very successful, and I am now honoured and excited to become a member of staff for The Fylde Coast BSL Centre, in the position of Personal Communication Assistant to Jan, in which I hope to help and support Jan as well as promoting the centre and language further in the community and beyond! I have recently started teaching my two young children the basics of Sign Language and Deaf Awareness, and they are very enthusiastic about it, and if my two 6 year olds can learn it, anyone can!
