Heather Talbot Foundation BSL Tutor Hello. I’m Heather Talbot. As a child, my great aunt and uncle were Deaf and I was intrigued by the wonderful language but was frustrated that most of my family didn’t sign. I always wanted to learn Sign Language and three years ago I decided it was now or never. I progressed through Level One and Two and with the wonderful help and support of The Fylde Coast BSL Centre, I am now excited to be commencing the Level Three course.
I worked in finance for 16 years and my new skill gave me the confidence to have a career change and move on to work as a Support Worker for the RNID. I am currently working as a Teaching Assistant in a local primary school, who along with my family are fully aware of my passion for learning sign, so much so that my 12 year old son has now completed his Level One.
I am excited to have been asked to work for The Fylde Coast BSL Centre as a volunteer teaching Foundation Level.
